This is interesting..

Stayed up till like now and nearly bored gilbert to death coz me n shawn were talking about religion

Protestant Christians distort facts conveyed about other religions to promote the overall image of their own religion.
The cause of this is mostly due to the roots of the religion, in which protestant Christians broke away from catholic Christians due to differing ideals
Catholics all belong to only 1 church. They have a following of around 1 billion. The worlds population stands at 6 billion. Christians stand at somewhat less then 1 billion
Catholics do not worship mother Mary. There is a difference between worship of a person and honouring her.
There are actually many modern day miracles. Its just that catholic priests prohibit the publication of such materials, until it is scientifically proven. (imagine a miracle proven to be not a miracle and the religious reprecaussions!)
According to them, god is completely benelovent and yet equally just.
Thus you go through a period after death in which there is a purgatory (rather unpleasant) where you are cleansed of your sins. The less sins you commit, the less time you spend there and vice versa.
Thus the whole religion is based on a logical reasoning system which goes to show that everything in this world can be scientifically proven (basis of logic)
Then this brings you to wonder, if everything in this world is actually perfectly logical and not random as perceived. Just part of the greater scheme of things.
Then you cant help but wonder. If everything is logical, perhaps there is a logical explanation to everything just that scientists have yet to discover the meaning behind it.
It is supposedly a fact that all culture world wide is conscious and has developed the thought of belief in a higher being.
However, one cannot help but wonder, whether the cause of this belief was due to people needing understand the world around them, so this belief in a higher being was a coping mechanism that is inherent in all humans to prevent them from breaking down. And all humans are hardwired internally to think like that.
Then you will wonder. So who hardwired us to be like that? It then links back to the issue of creation and whether god really created the world in seven days, or should we take atheists view point that we are a freak occurance of chance where nothingness collided with nothingness and chance created us (the big bang)
Then again, is no atheist in a fox hole (coz when the bullets start shooting everyone prays to god for salvation)
It could be interpreted as that his presence is so pervasive that we cannot help bu think of him at critical moments. However, this highlights human internal weaknesses, and how we always need to believe in something bigger, better and brighter then us as a benchmark for moral salvation.
The perfect, all elusive, solution.

Everyone says that the evidence that god exists is everywhere. However, i cant help but wonder if it is just a perceptual biases in which people have the tendency to choose evidence that supports their stand and disregard any evidence that goes against this stand.
