DO NOT USE M1 broadband wireless internet service! IT HAS TERRIBLE HORRIBLE LOUSY CONNECTION SPEED AT WOODLANDS AREA! IT COMPLETELY CANNOT MAKE IT!
when i first sign up for it, they say its super compatible with fujitsu laptop. and compatible with windows vista.
my laptop is fujitsu laptop running on windows vista and it was barely half a year old.
i bring home. cant install. no-installation cd. they cant detect the installation program, neither can they detect the modem. cant work.
i bring to cwp branch. the csc tempered with my laptop for 1 hour also cannot work. tell me to go down to main branch at IMM. -1st time @ m1 shop @ imm-
i bring to IMM queue for 1 hour. then i leave my laptop there for 5 mins they call me back say its fixed le. say its something to do with my firewall.
are the outlet staff incompetent or what?
then i bring home. at first the speed is ok. (Note this was during december 07)
as the weeks went by it get slower and slower.
SOMETIMES SLOW UNTIL I CANT EVEN OPEN WEBPAGE. I KEEP RESTARTING MY COMPUTER to just get it to work. load 1 webpage -only words without graphics- 10 MINS. better still, web browser keep saying im not connected to internet when m1 modem says i am connected.
so i brought it down to M1 shop and repair. -2nd time-
test try- at shop v fast - v happy bring home-
at home. speed slow. i call and complain. -load 1 page 3 mins- eh i just bring to shop and fix u say my laptop got problem? wtf? then they say my internet connection speed slow.
i went to shop upgrade to 3 mbps. they say will activate at 12 mn
happily waited- 12 mn- still take 3 mins to load 1 page- i tot maybe havent activate yet.
tahna 1 week. cant take it i went back to shop to complain.
they fix my laptop and i tried it at the shop. it was really fast. i bring home. quite fast. then i plug out my modem and keep
next day plug back in. -SLOW until CMI- even slower then my previous internet speed! i thought using dial up 56k modem was faster then this!!
i went back to shop to complain. -4th time bringing my modem and laptop alll the way down to M1 shop @ IMM- beside me alot of people bring laptop compain internet is slow also.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER SERVING ME TOLD ME HIMSELF THAT THE wireless INTERNET IS CHUIX. HE TOLD ME TO SIGN UP FOR a fixed line like SINGTEL AND GIVE UP trying to use m1.
after he fix and at the shop i try, its fast again. but when i bring home, its slow.
i called to complain. they told me maybe its the area too densely popluated with M1 users. they will run some satelite check to upgrade the service if i still find it slow. the satelite upgrade will take 1 month.
5 months of LOUSY INTERNET SERVICE has passed.
i couldnt take it i went to sign up for singtel.
its really fast and really good.
THE WORST PART ABOUT M1
after i canceled my subsctiption after the 6 months had passed,
they made me pay for a bill in advance for the following month.
the bill was for 30 something dollars. after i cancelled my subscription i was so happy i chucked the bills into the dustbin. they promised me a refund on a prorated basis because i had only used that month's subscription for 2 days.
i kept chasing M1 for my refund, but they told me that it was standard procedure to only refund me 3 months from cancellation. i was unhappy but i accepted this fact.
now they cook up some story about how the bill is from duno what date to duno what date and can only refund me $2 of my 30 dollars! i cant find any supporting documents and when i called the hotline the customer service officer called choley was very rude and kept interrupting what i was saying and telling me that their company records did not have records of me making a further payment.
in short,
i tolerated a lousy internet service of loading speed 3 mins on average per page for 6 months
internet speed is slowest during 8-11pm.
its only half decent between 3am to 12pm
i use 1/2 way, esp during playing games, it keep disconnecting half way. then i get killed by monster.. T_T
I called their customer service hotline - when u are customer they are very nice to you- more then 12 times in the previous 6 months
personally went down to the M1 branch @ imm 4 times and the branch @ cwp 2x in that 6 months to resolve problems with the internet service-but none of my problems got resolved.
and i couldnt take it then i cancelled my subscription in the end because the internet connection speed would never increase even though i upgraded the speed.
i dont know if other people faced the same problems as me but im just writing my super long complaint to warn other people about the potential problemsfaced when using this service.
im going to post everything i said there about m1 in a forum!!!
